Horrible! It is also a bit shorter and a bit less wide than the description states (about 1 1/2" - 2" less), but I can live with that. Fantastic product and a reasonable price. Both options are rated well by Target customers, but there were some complaints around durability and flattening. Made very well and worth the money. Very cheap, just a uneven piece of cut foam.
In some places it's barely 1/4 inch thick. Plus, there's a subtle minty scent intended to neutralize odors. and this mattress topper does the trick and is a really reasonable price. See the above scale for more information. The main thing I want to point out is the difference in sleep and comfort. I'm using it on an rv mattress that's a little firm. Great quality so far. Should have done this sooner. It did make my bed a lil taller with that extra topper piece but its ok i dont have trouble getting on or out of bed. It made a world of difference. If you use one of these and buy something, Slumber Search may make a small amount of money. They are thinner than they appear in the product photo. You can jump on it at night without feeling like a rock. Its for a guest bed so it will probably be okay since it won't see daily use, but still.
It came in a big box and you kind of have to peel it apart so it can start unraveling. I received 2 separate deliveries of this item and I don't recommend it. Hooray! The thickness description bothered me more. Most of Target's offerings focus on pressure-relieving foams that are ideal for people that have a mattress that is too firm for them. As to 3" thick, maybe at the highest peak. They are awesome! definitely is not a california king. We got this for my sons twin bed, the mattress wasnt the best. This 1" Memory Foam Mattress Topper by Threshold promises to "relieve pressure points and sore muscles" while providing "body-cradling support and comfort," and BOY DOES IT DELIVER. 
I returned it to the store and ordered it, the second one had a hole in and was not 3". We have sleep number beds that we love because we can adjust the firmness. The item works well, but it is NOT 3" thick. This year, I decided to invest in a new mattress because the one I currently have is lumpy, hard, and I can just feel the springs. Attach the padding/skirt firmly over the normal fitted sheet. The first night sleeping on the mattress topper took some getting use to because I think it was still opening up and getting situated, but by the second night I slept soundly. Comfy? It's not as thick as I thought it would be but when folded in half, it's good enough.

It was kind of tricky to get the memory foam into the zipper opening under the pillow top part, but once I put it together it was great. Upon opening it, it "grew" to size almost right away. There is a smell when you take it out but that's normal with manufactured goods that are stored in tight plastic. This was a very good affordable solution for a terrible problem of poor sleep. Very pleased with thus purchase. 6. as it starts to expand, determine how it is aligned and before it fully expands, turn it so it is aligned properly with the bed, in terms of length and width. tl;dr - Piece of foam, no grooves like advertised, Average to slightly below average comfort, maybe worth $10-15. This little topper is regular foam and generously sized (many aren't). Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It's so comfortable to sleep on and really soothes my aching back when I wake up in the morning! This mattress topper is so thin, it might as well not be there.
Bought 2 One for my son and for me. The first one I received was as advertised. Very flat and you could barely see those bumps. A disappointment.and worst of all to return it I need the original packaging which was just plastic wrapping that I cut to open it. I purchased the 4" DUAL mattress topper (that means 2" foam / 2" quilted microfiber). Most of the offerings sold at Target are designed to soften up a firmer mattress, with pressure relieving foam varieties being the most popular. The other two are fine, comfortable but does a little noise when you move on. For reference, my current mattress is about 14 years old and not very comfortable." Just to avoid damaging it. I'm getting 8 hours of sleep! Please don't discontinue it. WRONG.

Originally I was iffy about buying it because of how much it cost (I bought the queen size), but I'm glad I did. I didn't have any of the smell issues or flatness that other reviewers mentioned. When they arrive and are first unrolled after being squished into a small box, they are all out of shape. But the second one was barely half an inch thick. The "5 different zones" are hardly noticeable and do nothing in the way of support, I really don't know why they add this as a selling point as it could have just been a flat piece of foam with no grooves. My son is much happier! These toppers get solid feedback from customers with happy customers mentioning a good mix of support and pressure relief. I also got it on sale. If this was truly 3 thick that would be great. Also prefer to the memory foam. Im just praying it lasts me at least 3 years.. no smell and perfect soft even if u weight 280 lbs like my boyfriend he notices the difference he loves it too. My bed is way more comfortable now! I would love to get another year or 2 from this mattress. I've been sleeping on this topper for a week and it's great! I sleep on a futon and bought an American-made Otis moonshadow mattress which had high ratings and good reviews. Plan on returning only because of this, which of course is a big problem.
