We first got a quote at Home Depot for the 400 series and it was about $825 each without installation. 
Ice build up on the frame is rarely an actual issue with the window vs. indoor (environmental conditions) humidity or installation issues. I still think the windows look superior to most vinyl windows I've seen. Home Depot often has offers and sales available on their windows that make them quite enticing for homeowners. Have you checked their references? Most often that ends badly. The renewal by Anderson Windows don't have a channel but have a sloping ledge instead.
