Before I knew it, I looked up and it was July, and not only had a bunch of the books on the list already been published, but I realized that I had actually already read all of the books I wanted to include in this list anyway. Something is off, and Jess soon feels like she is being watched. In fact, all of Foley's characters are believable, each distinctwithout breaking into stereotypes. This is a hard skip it. Given the books complexity and multiple perspectives, this storys more measured pacing felt appropriate to me; readers will find it helpful to have ample time to meet the storys central cast of characters and thoroughly understand the way their lives intersect. Before I knew it, I looked up and it was July, and not only had a bunch of the books on the list already been published, but I realized that I had actually already read all of the books I wanted to include in this list anyway. Something is off, and Jess soon feels like she is being watched. In fact, all of Foley's characters are believable, each distinctwithout breaking into stereotypes. This is a hard skip it. The trip was hastily-planned: when we meet her, Jess has just gotten herself in some trouble at the dive bar where she works in England, and her brother Ben - and his Parisian apartment - is her escape plan.
