At Ritz Carlton price point, I expected Ritz Carlton service & although none of the staff was awful, they certainly werent 5 Star welcoming as youd expect here. The Top of Newport is a rooftop restaurant and bar offering lunch and dinner in a more casual setting with lovely views of the city and ocean (it's the highest point in Newport). Make some changes and renovation . Wish the restaurant had been open the evening of our stay. there is ample parking at the hotel why is it necessary to charge $40 per day, this was our fourth time staying at the Viking. The valets were spot on and very professional. The spa also has a small beauty salon and products for purchase. There are still some fun historical pieces throughout the hotel; the keys hanging behind the front desk (just for decoration) are the originals from the 1926 hotel. Sincerely, I didnt use my car once. The famous Cliff Walk, a three-and-a-half mile walkway along the shore through historic mansions, is an eight-minute drive or a 17-minute walk.
