Your relationships with the townspeople grow along with your crops and--provided you can get over that initial crafting hump--there's a good chance you won't be able to tear yourself away. Had Rune Factory 4 not been on this list I might have had to resort to extreme measures. Its not a mechanic I expected to see in a game like this, but the monsters are helpful to have around the farm and it adds a certain charm to the exploration side of the gameplay.
