Definitely not blind buy safe, but I think all Muglers should be taken for a test drive before purchasing. In the mid and dry down I get some faint woods. The first time, I didn't know what it was. but not a safe blind buy. The initial spray does have a vague herbal/medicinal quality but after it dries down it is a much more woody green. Unique, green with personality. I don't know where people get all the crazy comparisons from, this is just really nice fresh sweet greenery. It is super unique and the bottle is beautiful. I just hope it wont be diluted or discontinued. I don't mind that as long as I can still smell it, but even a generous application fades out after a couple of hours. My kids says it make me smell like a princess who is in a jungle filled with greenery as she run happily through them. It smells really medicinal, really niche. Aura is a multi-faceted emerald green heart full of tasty citrus and sweet fruits, served on a green lawn with humid and musky scents, surrounded by slight similarities of white jasmine flowers, just hinted Iris, all candidly enclosed by an appetizing and reassuring vanilla of Tahiti. That's a super-specific reference. To my nose this smells like a combination of a licked envelope and toothpaste. What's not to love? I'm someone who mostly likes cold weather scents, and this is one that brings my tastes into spring. Unfortunately everything wierd about it dries down and it becomes just a sweet vanilla bomb. I have weared this scent to day, and it has this pleasant power to give me a rejuvenating feeling : dynamic, delicate and confortable amber, a good balance in winter, and vanilla gives a sensy "up to date" touch, the choice of adventure. Green, dangerous, a little fruity, a little sweet and lush. I love it. Not in a way like grass plus sugar, but if you cut a stem of a sweet smelling flower and there's the sweet juice seeping out of it. Then it begin to transform from the root beer smell, to a greenery smell that I believe is Rhubarb because I have smell that in one of the greenhouses when I went purchase some plants for my trundle on my kitchen window for the spring and summer months. I personally love anything minty just like you get in Versace's Crystal Noir where a blend of notes does this. i was excited for the green notes, as i do really enjoy a green perfume and i was looking for something good for transitioning from winter to spring considering the warmer-leaning base notes. That said, I love it. its very well mixed so its hard to pick out any of its ingredients. I get main character vibes when I wear it. However, on your skin, testing it on your wrist, it will meld into the heat from your skin which will develop into your chemistry of your skin which will then allow it to develop from each stage. I have to be in the mood to wear this. Wow what a shock this was. and smooth French vanilla ice cream. This is a very odd fragrance. There was something in the back of the pretty mint and vanilla that was just off for me. i wear all of my perfumes whenever i feel like regardless of season but aura truly is absolutely divine during the summer, overwhelmingly juicy and sexy. Aura is an authentic Mugler, this beautiful indomitable talisman of a deep green is born among the waters of a deep green paradise, foreign and dystopic of unknown plants of exuberant sizes and shapes, grown on a distant planet in the style of that Pandora from Avatar, under the same sky full of stars of "Angel" and "A * men", where an "Alien Man" stands in the shadow of an authoritarian Alien queen reigning a tribe of "Womanity" all of them inhabitants of this planet in the galaxy "Muse" . and. hm. To me it's very juicy and fruity, but not like tart citrus - rather, it's very creamy! I'm trying to like it. Imagine a cream of vanilla, sweet rhubarb, ylang and pear, which is not too sweet, and with it you soften some greens, and the greens refresh the cream. :/.

Not a safe blind buy. So greeny, so vanillery, so creamy!!! This is a somewhat unisex unique smell - i definitely recommend it for both genders - although it does lean towards feminine.

Not my thing. Great longevity and sillage. Too bad. It's nice, and fairly strong, but I really wish the opening stuck around more. i've smelled all the popular mulger fragrances and haven't really loved any of them. I am still on a fence with this one. But again, none of that will enable anyone reading this who hasn't smelled it for themselves to imagine it. It appears they are also discontinuing my beloved Angel Muse edP. For me, very unique, yet very lovable fragrance. Super disappointed with this fragrance. Sorry, but as an avid hiker who lives in the tropics, just no. And it didn't help that I got it during the cold rainy damp weather lol. Aura is my third and final Mugler sample after the great Angel and the bewilderingly popular Alien. I think I am in the drydown phase right now and it is the most delicious woody vanilla (similar, to Born in Roma) that is just slapping my in the facebut I love it! That ugly note prevents me from enjoying this perfume. This is my favourite Mugler which is very surprising as its probably the most polarising. I do smell all the green vanilla everyone mentions, but for me it is an absolute fail. Im sorry lol but this is just what I imagine and I hope I can always find this perfume. On my skin it was nauseatingly sweet and earthy, kind of similar to if you dropped a popsicle in dirt. Pretty green and almost mentholish start? Then got a 90ml flanker for Valentines Day. Of course this is not a safe blind buy but its one of the most interesting and unique scents out there released in recent times while also being very enjoyable and pleasant to wear for any occasion. What a strange fragrance! This is interesting!" .

I had never worn this in the summer so have tried a few nights since the last heat wave broke. When i got her and sprayed some on my skin - that's when the weirdness kicked in. I guess I am late to the party! Wear this during an heat wave in a big city you'll feel like in a mysterious green jungle. This one was unique too, in a strange way. If you don't have the gift of your own verdant garden, why not spray on Aura and take a walk in a public garden or on a forested path or down a country lane. Gorgeous, transparrent, alluring.

First impression: Feels like been in a real forest, with vanilla wind coming to you!! I dont really know why this perfume has such a chokehold on me. ), its 3 reviews down. The sweet with the green is too much. Aura is a really nice fragrance. but i asked my sister to pick out a note that WASN'T vanilla or woods and she said she wasn't sure. Maybe this review makes no sense to anyone else. I get a bit of lemongrass when I really sniff. In typical Mugler fashion, and in keeping with the aforementioned scents, Aura is polarising and provocative, and feels like the third part of the trilogy. I want to like it, but I'm struggling with the dry down combo of green and ylang/vanilla. It's so deliciously weird :D. I really enjoy this fragrance. Lol. Even though it is a bold smell, it's not offensive. Like freshly cut grass and smashed leaves. It projects really well and has great longevity. This is majestic fragrance , unique, versatile and nothing smells like it ,very rare and in your face . I'm getting a linear mint and chemical scent out of this. That type of thing? Oddly enough I dont hate it, but I also dont love it. This is a deep rainforest in the midnight, when Aliens arrive and bring some vanilla with them. Definitely not for everyone, but no Mugler fragrance is for everyone.

"Swamp" perfume I can appreciate; "trash-heap," I struggle. But I can say this you can wear whatever fragrance you want throughout any season, do you boo.The longevity of this perfume, I have gotten 5 to 6 hours if I spray 6 sprays..once behind my neck, once on each wrist, and once on my clothes and one on the inner parts of each elbows. The projection is a little over 6 feet from your personal space upon initial spray afterwards within the 3 hour mark for me, they can smell you at 2 to 3 feet of personal space. Aura is one of the safer mugler perfumes and the ultimate green fragrance. Oh Aura. It reminds me of Fengyou Essence/Eagle Brand Oil. It's a sign he/they were doing something right.

One small criticismIt is so overpowering in some instances that it is not really something for everyday wear. Makes me think of Body Fantasies Twilight Mist, mostly. Opening is very unusual it smells like olives. I put it on at 7:30 this morning, and thought it was mostly gone by 3:30. I swear this has some fleeting mint in it and I sense some tuberose as well (I remember thinking the same thing the first time I smelled it when it was released). And I do too. The dry down is a beautiful woody vanilla on my skin. Absolutely LOVE. Only recently did I decide to try Aura again and I have to say I agree with many other reviews. But it was no ones fault. At first spray, I immediately smelled mint and green, cool dampness with a little freshness, like tannic vanilla tea -- a bit swampy and moist. I would say it is a greeness of the type of Cabotine, but it smells different. Not Red Vines. I think I was expecting something with a bit of earthiness to it, however aura seems to capture the freshness of seedlings and new growth without any of the dirt. I also get cocoa, or some type of chocolatey nuances. Wish I could catch more of the pear note. I brought it back to the store and called it a day. Pleasant duration. so you decide to strip down just because. Wintergreen/root beer with strong hints of vanilla and citrus. Nothing smells like this. Had to sell it. Ugh. Smelled it on a sample paper between Cosmopolitan in the airport and fell in love. I was still at college and this is still one of my best perfume purchase. What smelled so great on that little plasticky sample card was just awful on my skin! I need someone to smell me and tell me [I'm pretty]. Its sweet but not your typical boring or juvenile sweetness. I would also assume that there is some type of tuberose in here but I guess not. Honestly, for me it was like a Grandma version of Alien. Its definetly more aromatic green, sweet and fruity. It's so strange, too green, just smells musty and old, like a stale tool shed. Like all Mugler fragrances.

It's tough because I am not a fan of mentolated scents to begin with, which is why several of the more modern tuberose releases, including those often listed as "the best" have not been favorites of mine. Aura is the heart of the goddess of the island Ta fiti from "Moana"!!! It's like an unpleasant mint (I usually love mint tea though) or medicine that makes my tongue feel weird on the sides and makes me salivate (not in a good way!). And because of that I don't understand people who voted this for any season but summer. the juicy greenness offset by the menthol-y mint in the top is probably what throws me off the most, but i actually find it quite balanced here (as opposed to something like eros where i'm just drowning in toothpaste smell.) What does it smell like, then, if I try? but I really do love the bottle.. Sweet earthy green fragrance much more of a darker scent than I anticipated but its decent. When I first discovered this I didn't know how to describe it but memories immediately came rushing back to this little Forrested area we all would adventure in as children. I was too afraid, nay too intimidated, by this fragrance to try it again so it sat in my little tin of samples for a few months. Fresh and green, free of any sharp notes, the fragrance is delightful. i sampled this at a store earlier today, gave it some time to wear, and it might be the most unremarkable scent i have smelt in a very long time? I cant stop smelling my arm when Im wearing this. I like Aura quite a lot, but just like with the other Mugler scents I have a hard time describing why - they're all such unique, distinct fragrances, they just don't smell like anything else you can compare them to, and that includes their own list of notes. I love this! I agree with the person who said this is how they would think neytiri from avatar would smell like . I think that's why so much people dislike that perfume, the first spray is strong and surprising but that that's just the first spray. it's a quality fragrance, of that there is no doubt, but I find it a little unsettling. I sampled this today.

Just want to leave another review of this fragrance, because it is that unique and amazing. It is unique and needs confidence to wear. Mugler has officially DISCONTINUED Aura and is not even order-able on the Mugler site :( While I do not wear Aura much, I do love it. After 4 hours I still have strong smell of what reminds me Loulou.I cant explain why maybe the flower (ylang-yland and orange blossom in common), the sweeter side, a very feminine fragrance kind of very classy old-fashioned one well-dressed from the 60S At the end, 6-8h after I have a tiny bit of woody masculine note and this became the fragrance of Loki. When I smell it, I feel like I'm chewing wintergreen gum in the middle of a lush jungle right after eating a fruity spinach salad. After a while, the vanilla really shines. In the mid, the green banana note fades and the fresh woody notes begin to shine in tandem with that beautiful, perfectly sweet vanilla. To those of you that dont like reviews longer than 5 sentences: I like it. It's definitely a Mugler, a shocking, loud, strong as. I wanted to love this so bad and I *almost* do, but that minty menthol note RUINS it for me! It is incredibly potent and lasts forever. It does have a green quality, but nothing like the fresh green I was expecting, its more of a bitter green edge to a tangy vanilla pear, with a creamy soft woody base. Such a pretty little bottle. More like a lush green leaf with a pale underbelly and pinkish red veins converging into a fleshy stem. I wanted to try the perfume and happened to find the EDP at TjMaxx along with the lotion and body wash. Also, if you don't like the smell of it on your skin after 20min or less, you can simply go to a restroom to wash it off. To me it smells straight up green-vanilla. I love Mugler and Angel flankers but I wont be purchasing this one. It's fresh and warm at the same time. At all! For personal wear I don't like it in winter, on my skin it does not warm up enough to bloom, warmer weather suits Aura much better. Fengou Essence is made with camphor, eucalyptus, and menthol. The vanilla is immediately present to smooth out the fragrance and gains more prominence as she dries down, along with light and subtle wood notes. I heard some folks categorizing Aura as a green gourmand and it just makes perfect sense now. It smells like a cross between the smell of having dental work done and a bad car freshener from the auto parts store, and also rubbery like the store itself. I know a lot of people hate this perfume, but even though its not what Im looking for, I dont find it offensive in any way. Smells to me like box dye and/or the tiny tube of conditioner that comes with it. I wouldn't call it pleasant exactly, it's not as weird nor as successful as say, Angel. To me, rhubarb is a little bile-ish, a little dead skunk with acid reflux, a little skoal-pukey, cigarette extinguished in the dregs of a glass of margarita mix, or lemon juice in an ashtray. Afterwards it dries down to a nice warm green. Im not sure when I would wear this though. Not the usual kind of smell I go for but its somehow addictive. And Im going to make it part of my collection. I have to wonder if one of the green notes is menthol. The second I sprayed this.it shot me back 7 years to that moment cleaning out the moldy coffee cups. However, it's just one I really can't get on board with. The rhubarb is what gives it that luminance and the green and woody notes give it that depth. It has gone in a very short time from OK to LOVE. Creamy and green, when this dries down it takes me back to halloween because it somehow smells exactly like walking through strangers yards but also those little white candy sticks in Fun Dip.

I love the contradictions. For me, at the end Aura is like him: not a real villain but accessible, relatable, vulnerable, charming, stylish, witty and charismatic. Strangely, I think that's a good description. Green gourmand vanilla perfume. The uniqueness still there maybe the green notes that i quite notice. I think if you are a fan of Alien then this isnt too too far off. i imagine setting powder a silent film star would pat on her face in between sets, in some antique store years later where it has picked up certain musk and animalistic notes. Starts off green for all of ten minutes, then quickly settles to a sandalwood-vanilla.

so naturally it made sense for me to blind buy aura. Ive always applauded Mugler for coming up with fragrances that surprise me. I also get the green notes which come off a bit minty. I love it. It reminds me a bit of pepto bismal. To my nose, rhubarb and pear together are almost like a very interesting take on watermelon. There is a noticeable greenness in the very opening, but it doesn't last long. Being from the UK we dont have root beer here so it was always a treat to drink it when I visited fast food places in the US . It smells very overpowering, strong, synthetic and most people say it smells weird. Aura is unisex, seems pleasant at first, but it contains a nasty dark extremely bitter note that rears its ugly head now and then from beginning to dry down. I started googling how root beer is made and I learned it comes from sassafras trees and these trees are in multiple parts of the US, including Florida. The rhubarb is delightful and fruity, almost sparkling. First its a kind of Poison Ivys fragrance : medicinal, even herbaceous, mysterious, with. I'll save my sample and put it away until April. I can tell you, I REALLY HATED this perfume at first when I sprayed it on at Ulta. I can get why most people either love or hate it; I belong to the first category myself, happily bemused by it - but a little goes a long way, and I could never imagine wearing this as a signature. You will be notice lol. I dont like the opening but I love wearing it after that initial scent is gone . I get the green notes initially but the drydown smells sweet, like Angel, on me and I dont like Angel. It's interesting because to me this leans masculine or unisex, but the masculine side of unisex. I originally tried the EDT because I read it was the more approachable version of Aura. But this one, it's a pass.

The best way for me to describe the EDT from the EDP is that the toilett is like the day time version whereas the perfume is the night time version which is a little more deep and mysterious. Sounds weird, yet smells fantastic! This one is a bit complex to describe, and it may smell overwhelming at times. One of the BEST fragrance musicals available. Not fresh or green at all. And something like pear candy? Wet and fresh. And a little minty. Normally I dislike rhubarb in scents but it works really well in Aura. I absolutely love the opening punch to the drydown that's round, full and BEAUTIFUL! Very strange. I don't detect much of a medicinal or minty vibe, but maybe after sampling the OG Alien and wearing Alien Essence Absolue, my nose just has a higher threshold for medicinal notes. When you first spray it it smells like a synthetic green house and mint gum. IDK. My issue is that its so idk aggressively strange that idk where id wear it. although its not for everyone. Of course you can wear it whenever, but it would definitely make me want to escape and run far, far away from cold reality. I would love to get a full bottle! This is my first review on fragrantica. That's what this smells like. I like it more than everything.

Mugler never fails to deliver something entirely new and for that alone I applaud him, the respective noses and Clarins (who probably have nightmares before each launch - talk about leaving your comfort zone!). It was Angel with some green notes and root beer and this combination just didn't do it for me. After reading that rhubarb is in it, I noticed it immediately. It starts off with a medicinal menthol kick and refreshing bergamot then once that dries down the sweetness from the vanilla and rhubarb come through and then the woody notes really bring it all together and it turns into such a unique sweet green woody scent. Totally wearable, day to night, Mugler dna, you hate it or love it. Such an underrated fragrance. It tastes like dish soap. It was a blind buy and I just fell in love with it. Decadence is sweeter, feminine, projects better and lasts a lot longer. I was pretty excited for this because I've had really good experiences with Mugler fragrances. I am afraid for my coworker to get back from lunchshe is so sensitive to perfume). Tart, yet heady, Aura is equal parts green and sweet. I think this fragrance is definitely odd, but still likeable. Reminiscent of a jungle in the best way possible. this lasts quite long if you layer it with the shower milk, not to mention how beautiful the bottle is. They've only turned into a sickly almost medicinal smell. And it has some staying power. I love Aura--Just got the other day. I just want my home to smell like Aura. If you like strong perfumes I reccomend ! Sweet vanilla with a green twist to it. If Angel were a menthol cigarette. It is certainly unique and in the world of light roses, watery jasmine and fruitychullies this stands out. Both Aura EDT and Dossier's version of Perfect remind me of Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea, green, floral and slightly earthy. I like this medicinal root beer smell along with the sweet. Few years back, i got a vial sample from sephora back in 2017 i dont like it almost hate it. Umema: The Perfume That'll Never Be Smelled. Or bacon , So sad. There's a medicinal quality to it but I kind of like that.

I smell sour rhubarb and green notes in the opening. It had a really sharp mint to it. Its very interesting and I surprisingly like it. Its truly what a forest fairy would smell like.

Its interesting to me how many different notes other people are smelling. To my nose this is largely a vanilla and tonka fragrance. I got a sample of this scent almost 3 years ago in and fell head over heels in love with it. . The heart-shaped bottle is the color of life, luck, hope, intuition and the color of harmony between body, soul and emotions. a strong, foresty scent. Some of the rhubarb and vanilla lingers if you really get in there and smell closely. Simply awful to my nose. So where Angel took us on a heavenly journey and Alien crosses us between the distant dunes of the unknown Aura takes us to the exotic extreme. I helped my mum refill her bottle and as a little bit spilled on my hands Aura is all I can smell now. Longevity and sillage are outstanding. Thats sad because was incredible good fragrance. slightly masculine leaning which i personally do not enjoy, but for some reason i'm feeling this one. Terrible. One of the few fragrances nowadays that performed so good and its gone. I still test them, but have never been able to like any of his offerings so far. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. I can tell ANYONE this is NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY. And for all of us green fragrance lovers this was another fragrance that took us somewhere different. It was probably not a smart move for me to blind buy this as one of my very first frangrances, with not much experience with challenging perfumes. I feel like I can't even describe this fragrance. Love this but have received some very negative reactions from men. I keep getting Dollar Tree green aftershave but like, in a good way. I tested Aura at the store on a tester strip and was surprised how sweet it smelled. | | Nederlands | Srpski | Romn | | | | |, Copyrights 2006-2022 Fragrantica.com perfumes magazine - All Rights Reserved - do not copy anything without prior written permission. The vanilla is rich and comforting. I got this looking for a green fragrance and I got a generic, average vanilla-based scent. It gave me this really weird smell of root beer (which I like root beer) but to smell like it well I can handle it to a certain extent. on my skin it later turned quite powdery. I keep wanting to smell it but kind of don't like it. Both of them emit a very strange (but pleasant, at least in my opinion) smell. I had some old coffee cups in my bedroom that had gotten moldy. I imagine this is what Pandora smells like, mysterious, alluring and bioluminescent even. I just love it. Its just brilliant! it's 5pm. Mugler doesn't play safe, and thank god for that. probably a 6/10 for me. Theres something in this perfume that reminds me of bengay, or maybe tums? What can I say for this beautiful bottle!!! Life is too short to be wet blankets! What am I smelling? A lighter version would be awesome. Theres one note that stays for a second when its wet on the skin I dont like- its sort of an something gone old or bad type smell, but it disappears. I'm not a fan. and I've been wearing it today. I've heard people say that this perfume is what they imagine the Na'vi beings from the movie "Avatar" smelling like. because this is the vibe it gives me idk why!) Longevity is over the top, it'll last a day and stick through long showers. The entire line is great, but the EDP is my favorite. The reason that I say to test it on your wrist is because on a piece of paper, the smell will not transform. For me its just a bit too much in a direction that I like but it just doesnt mesh with me. I like to pair this with coromandel I find them a bit similar. A little bright gem in my perfume collection! I honestly thought I got a bad bottle at first. The overripe green at the start turns sickly sweet rancid with the vanilla and ylang combo. I don't find it that polarizing, but I understand everyone's nose is different. Makes me wonder if rhubarb leaves being toxic is somehow registering? I already know rhubarb isn't for me, so if it's for you, disregard my review, but I really didn't like what it added to this frag.
